Jerry at a Restaurant

Jerry used to frequent a particular pizza restaurant in the city a lot and got to know the staff very well. One day there was a new waitress there and the hostess who seated him told him to "...put her through the ropes."

First, Jerry asked for a Coke. She asked if he wanted the Coke in the can. Jerry replied, "No, just here at the table will be fine."

When he ordered the pizza, he asked if she could have them cut it in six pieces because he could never finish eight. She agreed and started to write that on the order when she suddenly stopped, dead still, and then stammered and tried to politely explain that it was the same amount no matter how many pieces it was
cut in.

Jerry could see the hostess off in the corner, having a good laugh.
